* Use a CRe set* method when toggling nightmode
This ensures it gets flagged as add_reset by the call cache, and that
CRe will actually re-render, as it's necessary if nightmode_images is
enabled (the default).
Fix#6845
* Prevent ReaderHighlight:onTap from running ReaderHighlight:clear when
it's unnecessary.
Avoiding a clearSelection call in CRe that could invalidate the cache
and cause unnecessary redraws.
* Don't store empty highlight arrays when all HLs on a page have
been deleted
Have ReaderBack be the sole handler of onBack.
Add 4 mutually exclusive options for the Back key,
to avoid ReaderLink and ReaderBack location stacks
from interfering (ReaderBack's stack being always a
superset of ReaderLink's stack).
So, remove "Enable back history", which is replaced
by Back option "Go to previous read page".
Fix a few possible crashes and inconsistencies (when
zoom, scroll or reflow have changed) with ReaderPaging
and ReaderView when restoring previous page/view.
* When auto_refresh_time is enabled, don't actually refresh anything when the footer is hidden.
* Fix a bunch of state tracking related to height computations, meaning `getHeight()` is now actually accurate, always, and we don't need shitty workarounds anymore.
* `footer_container.dimen.h` *includes* the progress bar, so, never reset it to 0 unless the progress bar is disabled (some `settings.progress_bar_position` codepaths were mistakenly doing just that).
* More aggressively set/reset `footer_text.height` (not sure this one makes much of a difference, and/or if it's actually useful at all, but, the tracking was already there, but hella inconsistent, so, just fix it).
* Honor `settings.reclaim_height` in other bits of code that were only checking `footer_visible` to figure out the visible page area.
* Ask ReaderView to update the `visible_area` *now* when toggling the footer's visibility (for ReaderPaging).
* Update the data collection format & handler to make it much less tortuous
* Update the pagecount & resync the stats on document layout changes
* Update the database schema to allow doing most queries against a SQL view that rescales the collected data to be accurate regardless of document layout (thanks to @marek-g for the SQL magic ;)).
* Add a "reset stats for current book" entry in the list of reset options, one that won't horribly break stats in said book ;).
* Fixed a couple of resource (SQL connection) leaks (in ReaderStatistics:getCurrentBookStats & ReaderStatistics:getCurrentBookStats).
* Flush stats to the DB on periodical metadata saves.
* Minor cosmetic tweaks to the code
Includes:
- (Upstream) various unimpacting changes to keep in sync
- (Upstream) Fix issues with legacy text rendering
- (Upstream) FB3/DocX/ODT: get lang and description metadata
- (Upstream) remove some global settings, make them per-doc
- TextLang, hyphenation: add Armenian, Friulian, Piedmontese,
Romansh, Zulu and Brazilian Portuguese.
Also make cre the prefered engine for .xhtml (over MuPDF)
and for .xml (which might be HTML).
* In icons mode, just use two different icons to display Wi-Fi status
* Enable Wi-Fi status icon on Kobo & Cervantes, too
* Refresh footer on (dis)connect if the Wi-Fi status item is enabled
In the current KOReader version the folder shortcuts are sorted by date of addition. When a user has many folder shortcuts (like I do blush ) they are easier to find again when sorted alphabetically.
This pull requests aims to provide convenient way to zoom in comics. The idea is when user holds/double taps (not decided yet) on a manga/comic panel, it gets cut out from the rest of the image and zoomed. More details in koreader/koreader-base#1148. Depends on koreader/koreader-base#1159
CBB now handles nightmode correctly (by deferring to Lua), so we no longer
need to do monkey dances about disabling it when hw invert is missing.
canUseCBB cap is resolved by generic device re-configuring blitbuffer
on the go, so as to avoid repeating the same thing in every device driver.
The dev setting can now flip cbb on the go, so one can gloat at the near
meaningless perf difference - 2Mp draw is 15ms Lua / 10ms C on 1GHz Cortex A7.
Includes:
- Update German hyphenation patterns
- (Upstream) Adds ODT (ODF) format support
- TextLang, hyphenation: add Basque, Croatian, Esperanto,
Estonian, Georgian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian,
Occitan, Welsh; update Bulgarian, Irish, Portuguese,
Slovak, Dutch, Norwegian, Spanish; update hyphen min
for Czech, English, Greek; fix Romanian and Ukrainian
pattern file names
- HyphMan: adds HyphMethod::getLeft/RightHyphenMin()
- epub.css: update HR default style
- fb2.css: keep <date> in main text left-aligned
- getRenderedWidths(): inline-block and table fixes
- CSS: avoid style hash mismatch when serializing content:''
- Tables: re-order row groups when necessary
- XML parsing: don't drop trailing text
- HTML parser: tweak implicit head/body insertion code
- Fix text search failure when blank at start or end
readertypography.lua: some cleanup by removing the first
table listing hyph dicts, and including their filenames
in the second table so we can build the first table
dynamically. Also fetch hyph left/right min limits from
crengine to not have to duplicate them here and keep them
in sync.
css_tweaks.lua: for in-page footnotes, switched from
"-cr-only-if: epub-document" to ": -fb2-document"
("not" FB2 documents), so these tweaks also work with
DocX and ODT footnotes.
Also included in base bump:
- KOPTContext: add comic panel detection function/additional
leptonica declarations
- Forcibly disable docs when building giflib
In the "Set footnote popup font size", allow toggling
between setting a relative (to the document) font size
and setting an absolute font size (that won't change
with the document font size).
Since 8815cbe0 and getSafeFilename() taking additional
parameters, and :gsub() returning multiple values,
filesystem type wasn't really checked and replacements
were not ensured, so saving articles like "Portal:Stuff"
failed on VFAT devices as ':' wasn't replaced.
After the awesome work made by @ezdiy:
- Remove empty dir from release zip
- Remove misc files (txt, md, html, gif) to prevent displaying them in PB library
- Do not asociate executable files (sh and py for the moment), just openable files
- Rename the font sample from html to template (to prevent wiping it during clean)
Only with CreDocuments (as no way currently to highlight links
in PDFs).
Tab or Shift-Tab to select next or previous links.
Press to follow (or show footnote in popup, and in there Press
to follow), back to go back.
(Not sure how and with what this check works and if
we still get such kind of items, but avoid a crash
when item2.pos0 exists but item1.pos0 does not.)
It's only needed by all_at_once, but we were skipping it if nothing or
only a single mode was enabled.
It lead to desync w/ the settings, or a crash.
Fix#6561
Includes:
- Revert "FB2: don't draw cover in scroll mode"
- (Upstream) FB2: fix coverpage drawing in scroll mode
- FB2 footnotes: only merge run-in when next is erm_final
- fb2.css: use OTF tabular-nums for footnote numbers
- Text: ignore ascii and unicode control chars
- Fix HR positionning when floats involved
- writeNodeEx(): minor tweaks
- OnTagClose(): add self_closing_tag parameter
- HTML format detection: accept HTML5 doctype
- HTML parser: rework Lib.ru specific handling
- HTML parser: new more conforming implementation
- HTML parser: ensure foster parenting inside tables
Also includes:
- SDL: don't bypass X11 WM compositor
* Boundaries are now detected both when paging forward and backward.
Fixes potential false-negatives in the chapter boundary heuristic code, as mentioned in https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/6528#issuecomment-678610188 ;).
* Tweaked ReaderFooter to not repaint ReaderUI when it's unnecessary. (toggling/cycling it on a page with significant image content would flash the full screen).
* Only flash the first time a page w/ significant image content is shown. (Menus, among other things, could otherwise re-trip the flash).
* Add an option to *always* flash on chapter boundaries
* Optionally, in flash on chapter boundaries mode, also flash on the *second* page of a chapter.
(There's often a large river at the top of the page on a chapter's first page)
* In CRe, request a flashing update when there is significant image content on the page.
* Register all refresh rate related options in Dispatcher, making them available in Gestures & Profiles.
when rotation was caused by a gesture the gesture settings were not flushed leading to weird state when the FM reinit reloaded the gestures plugin
discovered in #6530 caused by #6309
This change to the parser in `cloudstorage.lua` adds support for the [Apache WebDAV module][1]
It was manually tested using the [bytemark/webdav][2] docker container.
I developed this in Windows, with a docker container that hosted an extracted AppImage and a VNC server that I viewed using a VNC client.
I will write up my work flow at a later point.
Changes have not been tested against other webdav servers (what was this originally tested against?). Please could someone test against other webdav servers?
I also noticed a logic inversion error where we were looking for a slash at the end of the URL and if it exists, then we explicitly set `has_trailing_slash=false` - so I fixed it to set to `true`. I had to do this so that we weren't visiting the URL without a trailing slash - apache sends back a 301 redirect with a `location` header with a trailing slash, if you don't put a trailing slash.
As a side note, I think we should consider replacing this regexp pattern matching parser with the [XML parser in the newsreader plugin[3]

* bump crengine: reworked hanging punctuation
* move setting management from ReaderTypeset to ReaderTypography
And fix initial handling of defaults being loaded as true/false
but needing to be saved as 1/0.
* fix luacheck
* Revamped most actions that require an internet connection to a new/fixed backend that allows forwarding the initial action and running it automatically once connected. (i.e., it'll allow you to set "Action when Wi-Fi is off" to "turn_on", and whatch stuff connect and do what you wanted automatically without having to re-click anywhere instead of showing you a Wi-Fi prompt and then not doing anything without any other feedback).
* Speaking of, fixed the "turn_on" beforeWifi action to, well, actually work. It's no longer marked as experimental.
* Consistently use "Wi-Fi" everywhere.
* On Kobo/Cervantes/Sony, implemented a "Kill Wi-Fi connection when inactive" system that will automatically disconnect from Wi-Fi after sustained *network* inactivity (i.e., you can keep reading, it'll eventually turn off on its own). This should be smart and flexible enough not to murder Wi-Fi while you need it, while still not keeping it uselessly on and murdering your battery.
(i.e., enable that + turn Wi-Fi on when off and enjoy never having to bother about Wi-Fi ever again).
* Made sending `NetworkConnected` / `NetworkDisconnected` events consistent (they were only being sent... sometimes, which made relying on 'em somewhat problematic).
* restoreWifiAsync is now only run when really needed (i.e., we no longer stomp on an existing working connection just for the hell of it).
* We no longer attempt to kill a bogus non-existent Wi-Fi connection when going to suspend, we only do it when it's actually needed.
* Every method of enabling Wi-Fi will now properly tear down Wi-Fi on failure, instead of leaving it in an undefined state.
* Fixed an issue in the fancy crash screen on Kobo/reMarkable that could sometime lead to the log excerpt being missing.
* Worked-around a number of sneaky issues related to low-level Wi-Fi/DHCP/DNS handling on Kobo (see the lengthy comments [below](https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/6424#issuecomment-663881059) for details). Fix#6421
Incidentally, this should also fix the inconsistencies experienced re: Wi-Fi behavior in Nickel when toggling between KOReader and Nickel (use NM/KFMon, and run a current FW for best results).
* For developers, this involves various cleanups around NetworkMgr and NetworkListener. Documentation is in-line, above the concerned functions.
It doesn't do so for the FM, so the inconsistency is confusing.
Plus, if you're actively using sticky rotation, saved rotations are
ignored anyway.
Re #6420
* Allow switching to SW dithering on a HW-capable device without that being lost on boot (and, worse, left in an undithered state).
* Make sure the automagic toggles between HW/SW in the Dev menu are properly saved.
use `device` `filemanager` `rolling` and `paging` sections to organize the
dispatcher menu and allow the user to know when the action will apply
add events from ReaderGesture
allow profiles in FM
* Mangle stupid defaults test so that it compares tables, and not a non-deterministic string representation of one.
It's still extremely dumb and annoying to update. (i.e., feel free to kill it with fire in a subsequent PR, I think everybody would cheer).
* Rewrite DepGraph to be deterministic
i.e., fully array based, no more hashes, which means no more pairs randomly re-ordering stuff.
Insertion order is now preserved.
Pretty sure a couple of bugs have been fixed and/or added along the way
;p.
* Resync frontend/apps/filemanager/lib/md.lua w/ upstream
And use orderedPairs in the attribute parsing code, just to make that stupid test happy.
* Allow locking the gyro to the current screen mode (i.e., orientation).
* Tweak the "sticky rota" option to work both ways
* More rotation constant usage instead of magic numbers
* landscape FM / Refactor rotation
refactor and simplify the orientation handling code. the user generally cares about the rotation (what direction the device is facing) and not about if koreader is displaying in portrait or landscape mode
* bump base
update luasocket, libjpeg-turbo, curl
add logging to evernote-sdk-lua
update framebuffer for proper rotation
Was correctly done when jumping bookmarks via the Bookmarks
menu and the SkimTo widget, but not from gestures.
Also prevent fillToc() on each page turn when book has no TOC.
joins calibre metadata search and calibre wireless connections into a single plugin
search metadata changes:
- search directly into calibre metadata files.
- search can be performed on more than one library (configurable from a menu)
- device scans now find all calibre libraries under a given root
- search options can be configured from a menu. (case sensitive, find by title, author and path)
- removed legacy global variables.
- *option* to search from the reader
- *option* to generate a cache of books for faster searches.
calibre wireless connection changes:
- keep track of books in a library (includes prunning books from calibre metadata if the file was deleted locally)
- remove files on device from calibre
- support password protected connections
- FM integration: if we're in the inbox dir it will be updated each time a book is added or deleted.
- disconnect when requested by calibre, available on newer calibre versions (+4.17)
- remove unused opcodes.
- better report of client name, version and device id
- free disk space checks for all calibre versions
- bump supported extensions to match what KOReader can handle. Users can override this with their own list of extensions (or from calibre, by configuring the wireless device).
* generic Device:info() function which returns the model
* add Device:canSuspend() and make it true in all devices that have suspend routines and the emulator
* also enable fake poweroff/reboot on the emulator
* add Device.home_dir
* add Device:hasExitOptions() and update menus & comments
* Fix HW dithered partial refreshes sometimes behaving as if the refreshed
content had moved a few pixels to the side...
Probably a kernel issue with the alignment fixup in the EPDC?
* Get rid of the legacy coordinates fixup
It shouldn't be necessary anymore.
And I'd rather fix the root cause, anyway.
* Bump base
* Missed a few DIVs in #6224
* * Refresh the footer instantly when changing the prefix, separator, or
formatting.
* Allow setting the container height (formerly
DMINIBAR_CONTAINER_HEIGHT)
* Allow setting the container bottom padding (formerly 1 flex pixel)
* Refactor ReaderFooter:applyFooterMode
Handle toggling the genFooterText function even in all at once mode
Make sure the layout is properly reset when changing visibility state,
to avoid inconsistencies with complex layouts.
Allows editing a CSS snippet to be applied to this
book only, without the need to create and edit
a User style tweak.
Allows copying any other tweak CSS by just taping
on it (and pasting into this with Hold).
Limit User style tweaks nb of items per menu page
to 6 (like we try to do for other tweaks menus).
Feed to crengine the same ticks (build from the TOC
entries) that we use in the bottom status bar.
(crengine otherwise builds a tick for each DocFragment,
which most often is really different than what's seen
in the bottom bar.)
Includes:
- GIF decoding: avoid crash on some images
- Top progress bar: avoid re-computing when not needed
- Top progress bar: allow external filling of marks
- CSS/Text: properly inherit and handle text-align-last
- getRenderedWidths(): fix handling of text-indent
- Reorder some flags to make the sets clearer
- CSS: support more white-space named values
- Text: fix standalone BR not making an empty line (rework)
- CSS: support for pseudo elements ::before & ::after
- CSS: content: open-quote support via TextLangMan
- CSS/Text selection: adds a few "-cr-hint:" tweaks
cre.cpp: adds setHeaderProgressMarks()
Added 2 style tweaks to disable pseudo elements
::before/after and common ligatures.
7d139263 was preventing some features to work,
so skip it in some cases:
When toggling between top & bottom status bar (a tap
is simulated to show the bottom bar).
When in flipping mode (jumps to page at tap position).
When toggling via menu (shown only when zero tap zone).
This is a quick exploration into how the new Device:hasFewKeys() method could work to make things more usable on very limited devices.
In the reader, the right is repurposed to open the menu. Left in turn closes it.
The same principle is applied to ButtonDialog. This means you can select anything in principle, but once you go right you can't go back.

Iterating a k/v table as an array would have us stopped
on the first disabled MODE (frontlight, battery... on
some devices).
Rework that initial setup, and make it correctly handle
added or removed MODEs when using the ordered items
saved in the user settings.
Includes:
- Don't reset invisible BR to display: inline
- ldomTextCollector: handle inline-block/table as inline
- Avoid re-rendering on font hinting mode change
- List markers: fix positionning when floats involved
- GIF decoding: avoid uneeded abort on LZW table overflow
- Adds getUnknownEntities(), can help with debugging
- Don't check stylesheet hashes when loading from cache
- Hardcoded elements and attributes list: cleanup
- Full rendering: 2 small optimisations
- Strut confinning: deal with images earlier
- lvtextfm: some cleanup and reordering
cre.cpp:
- fix getPageFromXPointer() and getPosFromXPointer()
to not fail on invisible nodes and work on the next
visible node (so links whose target is display:none
can work).
Add support for 2 settings one can set manually
in reader.settings.reader.lua:
["cre_background_color"] = "0xccffcc",
["cre_background_image"] = "/path/to/bg_paper.jpg",
This number might have been leaking from a previously opened
book, and can be innacurate.
Reset it from the number of highlights stored in settings.
Note that the number of "Notes" shown does not mean much.
- Use same names for options;
- Have them both movable
- Add option to keep widget shown on Apply (and use that
when appropriate: when the value may have an immediate
visual effect, so one can tweak it without having to
go thru menus to re-open it again).
Mostly for the PDF bottom menu.
- Reorganize by topic, trying to limit the number
of widgets per panel to 4.
- Re-order some toggles from low to high ('off' then 'on').
- Show font size as number instead of a list of "Aa".
- PDF: add more font size values, and increase usable
contrast values.
- Add help_text to most PDF toggle titles.
- CRE line spacing: increase fine tuning min and max.
Also avoid zoom advice messages on book load.
Simplify (and avoid edge cases) in other code by having
ReadHistory manage the "lastfile" setting on add, remove,
rename...
Fixed a few other cases of things not updated.
Bump crengine:
- Text: fix occasional BiDi bad word splitting
- Font: fix HB fallback measurement/drawing mismatches
- Font: do not add letter spacing on diacritics
- Text: tunable use of letter spacing for justification
- Text: dont adjust space after initial quotation mark/dash (rework)
- Text: fix possible bad widths after collapsed spaces
xtext.cpp: pick crengine fix with HB fallback
measurement/drawing mismatches
Adds "Word Expansion" to bottom Font size menu, and moved
"Word Spacing" there too, to balance the panels' heights
to 4 items.
Also add "Dictionary" and "Fulltext search" to available
and cycleable highlight actions.
Generalize long-press (3s) at end of selection to show
the highlight dialog popup.
Includes:
- Simplify libunibreak includes
- Text: fix read/write outside array bounds
- lvtextfm: dont adjust space after initial quotation mark/dash (rework)
- Fonts: allow providing and using multiple fallback fonts
Users can set their prefered fallback font, which will be completed
with a few of our shipped fonts for maximum coverage.
Replace Hyphenation menu with Typography menu.
This works mostly like before:
- typography/hyphenation is chosen according to the book
metadata language,
- one can set a default or a fallback language,
- hyphenation is now just a subset of typography, and
can be disabled while still setting a language and
enabling the other features,
- the typography language enables newly added features
to crengine: per-language line breaking rules and
per-language Harfbuzz glyph selection.
Includes:
- Fix a few clang-tidy warnings
- Add support for <img src="data:image/png;base64,...>
- XML parsing: add more HTML5 named entities, optimize search
- Text: fix standalone BR not making an empty line
- Fix BR with "display: block" not making an empty line
- Fix hyphens from soft-hyphens not part of highlighted segments
- Use libunibreak for line breaking
- Adds TextLangMan for text typography by language
Tweak ReaderHyphenation to work with the new TextLangMan
(even if it will be replaced soon by ReaderTypography).
bump crengine: support for EPUB3 nav toc and page maps
Includes:
- Fix lvRect:isRectInside(rc) with 0-width or 0-height rect
- TOC: parse EPUB3 nav toc, fallback to spine when no toc
- Parse and cache various hardcopy page list maps
- epub.css: hide EPUB3 <span epub:type="pagebreak"> content
cre.cpp: add a few PageMap helper functions.
Adds ReaderPageMap which will add a new menu (under TOC and
Bookmarks) that will allow:
- to list source page numbers (like a TOC)
- to show visible page labels in the right margin
- to use these source page numbers in the footer, the TOC,
the GoTo and SkimTo widgets, and to use the source page
number in the standard bookmark and highlight initial text.
Set these 2 tweaks as default global tweaks for new users
(and existing users that have not set any global defaults).
One can disable them by long-press on each of them.
Only per-specs EPUB and FB2 footnotes (other in-page footnotes
tweaks may trigger on non-footnote content on some books, so
let enabling them be a user decision).
Our code expects (rightfully) the TOC items to be ordered
and to have increasing page numbers, but we may occasionally
not get that from the engines (usually, because of bugs or
duplicated IDs in the document).
Check for that and fix page numbers (possibly making them
wrong) to have a working TOC.
Depending on the random ordering of bookmarks and highlights
on a same page, the binary seach could not notice that a
bookmark exists for this page.
Solve this by putting bookmark before highlights on a same
page in the list, and skip them when searching.
- FB2 footnotes are no more rendered in-page by default
- In-page rendering can be enable by the added Style tweak
- FB2 footnotes can also show in footnote popup (with
some added not-so-nice CSS so MuPDF can render them
as crengine)
Enable new rendering feature COMPLETE_INCOMPLETE_TABLES
on all enhanced rendering mode, but have it disabled for
earlier cre_dom_version.
Also increase default_cre_storage_size_factor from 20 to 40.
So that Statistics settings modified while in FileManager
are saved.
Also allows resetting statistics when in FileManager
(where there is no current book id to exclude).
Touchscreen is mirrored in X & Y and has a different resolution from the eink panel.
Uses systemd for time/date/suspend/poweroff/reboot
Two systemd units for platform integration. button-listen is a very
simple launcher.
to-do: add support for wifi by implementing a wpa supplicant dbus client.

* File search: Don't traverse hidden folders if we're not showing them
Re https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3949194&postcount=21
* Ignore macOS resource forks, too.
* Apply the same logic to the BookInfo directory walker
* And never ever show resource forks in the FM, either.
It's extremely confusing, as it has nothing to do with calibre catalogs,
which are actual things the user can generate manually.
What it's using instead is actually a metadata cache in a flatfile db
that's always present, as long as "Send To Device" was used to upload
the content to the device.
* Allow running Shell/Python scripts from the FM
* Show an InfoMessage before/after running the script
Since we're blocking the UI ;).
* Allow running scripts from the favorites menu, too.
Also reset cache when calling :enableInternalHistory(), as it solves
screen orientation change unit tests failures (although there is no
issue in regular use of the app).
* Don't store stale screen/rotation modes in book's settings!
Gyro events *may* entirely bypass the local copy...
In any case, using a local copy was essentially asking for trouble...
Actually fix#5772
(because the issue was indeed that a Gyro swap from Portrait to Inverted
Portrait wasn't stored properly).
* Allow showing ScreenSavers in Inverted Portrait.
That works just fine, and won't lead to the confusing situation where a
lefty might pick up the device as a righty because the ScreenSaver
happens to be shown that way, only to have it rotate back to its lefty
orientation on wakeup...
Gives the book language to Text*Widget (and XText) when
drawing title, authors and other metadata text.
Might be needed to properly display a Japanese book title
when the UI language is Chinese.
Optimise usage of some of CreDocument methods by caching
their results, either globally, or per page/pos for those
whose result may depend on current page number or y-pos.
This helps a lot on cre books with a lot of highlights.
Includes:
- lvtinydom.cpp: fix Use-after-free
- lvtextfm: fix/cleanup lastnonspace code bits
- lvtextfm: fix vertical-align: top & bottom
- renderBlockElementEnhanced: minor fixes related to floats
- renderBlockElementEnhanced: compute baseline of block
- Add support for display: inline-block/inline-table
- Better selection highlighting by using getSegmentRects()
- getHtml(): add flag to get text soft-hyphenated
cre.cpp: toggable text selection highlighting method,
default to the new one using segments.
Update various cre flags to use the new features (and
to conform with some flags re-ordering):
- support display: inline-block in flat, book and web
render modes.
- get HTML with soft-hyphens for footnote popups, so MuPDF
can use them when rendering the footnote.
bidi.lua:
- Revert "Alias everything to Bidi.nowrap() when in LTR UI,
as using LTR isolates seems uneeded when already LTR" (part
of a628714f) which was a wrong assumption: we need proper
wrappers for all things paths. Enhance some of these wrappers.
- Fix GetText RTL wrapping which was losing empty lines and
trailing \n.
- Wrap all paths, directories, filenames in the code with
these wrappers.
- Wrap all book metadata (title, authors...) with BD.auto(),
as it helps fixing some edge cases (like open/close quotation
marks which are not considered as bracket types by FriBiDi).
(Needed some minor logic changes in CoverBrowser.)
- Tweak hyphenation menu text
- Update forgotten SortWidget for UI mirroring
- KoptConfig: update "justification" index for RTL re-ordering,
following the recent addition of the page_gap_height option.
Replaces DAUTO_SAVE_PAGING_COUNT in defaults.lua with
a new option available in menu, that allows setting
an interval in minutes instead of a page count.
Bump base for util.fsyncOpenedFile() and util.fsyncDirectory().
Use these to force flush to storage device when
saving luasetting, docsetting, and history.lua.
Also dont rotate them to .old until they are at least
60 seconds old.
Also make auto_save_paging_count count right.
Also bump crengine: open (as text) small or empty files
Small tweaks all around to handle UI mirroring:
- swap existing symbols like arrows, or use alternative ones
- rotate some images, like chevrons and dogear icons
- flip some left and right swipe handling
- flip some geometry arithmetic like tap on left or right
side of page or dict window
- use new ProgressWidget:getPercentageFromPosition() instead
of geometry arithmetic
- BD.wrap() some concatenated string bits, like in reader
and menu footers
- flip inverse_reading_order when UI is mirrored
More specific tweaks:
- ReaderGesture: reset some specific gestures when UI direction
has changed (tap on top/bottom left/right corners, for
bookmarks and FileManager "Plus menu").
- ReaderRolling: show markers on the correct side of page,
in single or dual page mode.
- KoptOptions: swap left and right icons in Alignment toggle
- CheckMark: proper rendering in all 4 mirroring/rtl combinations.
- VirtualKeyboard: forbid any mirroring
- Move util.getMenuText into Menu.lua
Allow TextBoxWidget new text direction/lang parameters to be
set on upper widgets, and propagate them all the way to it
(ScrollTextWidget, InputText, InputDialog, TextViewer).
Use specific non-default ones in some specific cases:
- Force LTR text direction when showing HTML and CSS, and
configuration files (in some plugins).
- Use Wikipedia server language and text direction when
showing an article.
- Use auto with Dictionary results, as we don't know the
dictionary language, and they may contain mixed content.
- Force LTR when showing some paths (still needs more of them)
TextEditor plugin: add 2 new options "Auto paragraph direction"
and "Force paragraph direction LTR".
Footnotes popup: grab HTML direction, and forward it
to MuPDF for proper display.
Set default language (for Harfbuzz to pick up localized glyphs
in a font), default text direction, and UI element mirroring
depending on the UI language.
Happens with "Inverse reading order", which re-registers
the Reader tap forward/backward zones and would prevent
tap menu and bookmark from working.
Before, when removing them, we would lose all the override=
set on them by other touch zones (tap menu, bookmarks...),
and so they were no more ensured after re-adding the zone.
So, make sure we don't lose that info.
Includes:
- New option to tune word spacing: space width scale percent
- Text: look for hyphenation in more words if needed
- CSS: fix "hyphens:none" should override inherited "hyphens:auto"
- getHtml(): grab dir= and lang= attributes from upper nodes
Replace our Word Gap/Space condensing toggle/setting with
a new Word Spacing toggle/setting, made of 2 values:
- 1st number scales the normal width of spaces in all font
(100% uses the font space width untouched)
- 2nd number applies after the 1st has been applied, and
tells how much these spaces can additionally be condensed
to make more text fit on a line.
closes#5612
the change in `ReaderView:recalculate()` causes the viewable page size to be calculated by not including the footer, causing the text not to get cut off.
since the page area was not drawing under the footer `ReaderView:drawPageSurround()` had to be fixed to draw the margin under the footer so when tapping the footer off the area should be dran the background color.
Option to synchronize files in local koreader folder with folder on Dropbox. All files that aren't on the local disk will be downloaded. Files with different sizes will also be downloaded and overwritten.
The download process can be paused or stopped at any time (similar to downloading images in Wikipedia).
Synchronize and settings are available after long press in dropbox account in Cloud storage.
Limitations: Only one folder (without subfolders) can be synchronize with one folder on local storage.
- height_adjust: if true, reduce height to a multiple of
line_height (for nicer centering)
- height_overflow_show_ellipsis: if height overflow, append
ellipsis to last shown line

Use them in Menu.lua to clean up/shorten the code used for multiline
menu items by delegating the work to TextBoxWidget, or using
TextWidget when we end up needing only a single line.
Alternative code to size and draw text with the help
of the xtext Lua C module.
Enabled by default (can be disabled via an added menu
item in "Developer options").
New properties can be specified by calling widgets, only
used when xtext is used:
- lang: use specified language instead of the UI language
- para_direction_rtl: true/false to override the default

- auto_para_direction: detect direction of each paragraph

Also bump crengine: use FreeType "light" hinting algorithm,
which hints on the y-axis only (and so avoid messing with
advances and kerning on the x-axis).
* Restore '+' prefix when charging in the footer w/ letters prefixes
Regression since #5537
* Don't use a full battery icon in the menu entry
Make it clear that one isn't in-sync with the current gauge
* Unify battery meters look'n feel
Switch to proper (vertical) battery icons (one per 10% steps).
Fix#5535
* Bump fonts (https://github.com/koreader/koreader-fonts/pull/7)
Because we need the new symbols from nerdfonts ;).
Lots of code was doing some renderText calls to get the size
of some text string, and truncate it to some width if needed,
with or without an added ellipsis, before instantiating
a TextWidget with that tweaked text string.
This PR fixes/adds some properties and methods to TextWidget
so all that can be done by it. It makes the calling code
simpler, as they don't need to use RenderText directly.
(Additionally, when we go at using Harfbuzz for text rendering,
we'll just have to update or replace textwidget.lua without
the need to update any higher level code.)
Also:
- RenderText: removed the space added by truncateTextByWidth
after the ellipsis, as it doesn't feel needed, and break
right alignment of the ellipsis with other texts.
- KeyValuePage: fix some subtle size and alignment issues.
- NumberPickerWidget: fix font size (provided font size was
not used)
* Changed File Browser text
KOReader looks nicer than KOReader File Browser,
* Remove the "page x of x" if only one page
Removes it from the bottom of the file browser
* Remove the "page x of x" if only one page
Removes it from the top menu, if there is only one page, why show page 1 of 1
* Renamed ~ to Home
Since the file browser can be considered "Home"
* Added 12 hour time option
Also tweaked the charging icon, ⚡ looks nicer than +, tweaked seperator between time and battery, - instead of @
With some particular document switching workflows, the
screensaver menu could lose its last item, and shrink
to having zero item, and eventually cause a crash.
* Don't break `doc_pages` updates when it's completely disabled. (c.f., the commit's comment, doing it on every page turn seems a bit overkill, but I get that it's probably done that way because it was easier ;)).
* Detect the empty footerTextGenerator properly in `_updateFooterText` (it's `""`, not `nil`).
* Abort `_updateFooterText` early when the footer is invisible (and has been for a while/ever, i.e., when not requesting a repaint, like a mode switch would).
* Never send `SetBottomPageMargin` events twice.
* Minor tweaks to touchmenu & configdialog to avoid useless repaints (don't redraw the reader/fm unless we absolutely need to).
* Make sure we show the progress bar alone instead of nothing when disabling the last enabled mode in the menu.
Includes:
- Adds tinyNodeCollection::getStatistics()
- epubfmt.cpp: cleanup indentation and small optimisation
- Add more progress callback events
- Optimisation: avoid re-init for EPUBs with embedded fonts
- Fix: don't draw border when border-color: transparent
- CSS: ignore 'inherit' inside font-family
Show a small progress meter at top left of screen when
crengine is loading, re-rendering, and saving cache file
(after a 2 second delay to not be bothered on small books).
Also add a wrapper for the last remaining bit of code that
was accessing _document directly (:getPageOffsetX()).
`self.inverse_reading_order == nil and G_reader_settings:has("inverse_reading_order")` could easily be false, which would then incorrectly turn the setting off.
Fixes <https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/5346>.
* Restart KOReader after a crash, after showing a fancy crash recap screen (our very own Gray Screen of Death!).
Kobo only, because it's possibly the platform where getting booted out
of KOReader is the most annoying.
Keeps track of crashes, to be able to give up after a while, in order to
avoid boot loops in the unlikely event of a crash loop on startup.
Adds a dev option to *always* exit KOReader after the crash screen.
Thanks to <https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/5237> we can now extract the knowledge currently embedded in Transifex and put it directly in our source. This positively affects <https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/3754>.
Translation instructions and knowledge that comes out of localization-related questions should be preserved in the source, because Transifex is too ephemeral. For example, the links from <https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/2290> are no longer accessible. Even when they are, it's quite useful to have this information around while dealing with the code as well, and I also hope it'll be informative to contributors who seldom visit Transifex.
This commit also makes a few minor changes to obviate the need for comments where possible.
This commit standardizes the various todos around the code a bit in a manner recognized by LDoc.
Besides drawing more attention by being displayed in the developer docs, they're also extractable with LDoc on the command line:
```sh
ldoc --tags todo,fixme *.lua
```
However, whether that particular usage offers any advantage over other search tools is questionable at best.

Bump crengine: background image and other fixes:
- View HTML: option to show text unicode codepoints
- Fix attribute parsing: decode &-encoded chars
- Text: allow wrap after more unicode spaces and hyphen
- Fix: no left hanging when hanging punctuation disabled
- lvtextfm.cpp: more comments, some formatting cleanup
- Optimize background image drawing
- CSS: fix background-image file path resolution
Bump luasec to 0.8.1
Bump harfbuzz to 2.6.0
cre.cpp:
Adds setBackgroundImage() proxy function to crengine
facility to set background textures (this is unrelated
to the background-image CSS fixes).
No frontend code (yet) to select such an image.
View HTML: adds a 3rd view (extended debug view), showing the
unicode codepoint of each char and crengine rendereing methods.
- show icons or letters as prefix of items
- various footer separators
- progress percentage format with decimal digits
- time in 12/24 format
- two duration formats (1:30, 1h30')
- move some options into Settings submenu

Adds "Render mode" toggle with 4 modes, to enable some or all
of crengine's new enhanced block rendering features.
Use "legacy" rendering for previously opened books to not mess
with bookmarks, and "web" (all of the new features) for new books.
Also make available the added "HTML5" stylesheet to the Style menu.
* Make toggling Gyro events more robust
Actually ask to turn it on/off depending on the setting, instead of a
blind toggle
A quick succession of suspend/resume events could otherwise leave it
in an unexpected state (i.e., off when it should have been on).
Without having to resort to weird custom defaults.
* Split the current margins setting in three:
* Horizontal margins (because you generally want those two to be balanced).
* Top margin & Bottom margin (because you may want to tweak those separately to deal with quirky status bar/final line shenanigans).
* Also, add a "Reclaim bar height from bottom margin" toggle to the status bar menu, to optionally make sure the status bar won't eat into the bottom margin.
* Includes a free fix to diacritics popup refresh handling in the keyboard ;).
* Make hasNaturalLight* caps safe to call without a device check. (fix#4919)
Make it clear that it's expecting the NTX implementation, though.
* Don't turn the FL on on resume if it was off on suspend
* Make sure turnOn/turnOff actually updates hw_intensity in the process where it matters, instead of just in a short lived fork ;). (fix#4923)
Going with partial ends up being problematic on REAGL devices in a
number of different ways.
On Kindle (at least pre EPDCv2), it's slightly flickery because of the
whitespace and the boldface.
On Kobo, it's slow when anything else tries to queue an update (i.e.,
flashing the chevrons).
Which is a non-issue on the Forma because then it's fast when using
pageturns to navigate, but, still :D.
The obvious downside is we lose the automatic flash after n refresh,
which is potentially annoying on older, non-reagl devices.
It's not really on issue on REAGL devices, especially on EPDCv2.
Companion PR to https://github.com/koreader/koreader-base/pull/884
* Basically flags devices known to be stable when using PxP inversion.
* Plus, random fix for #4870 ;).
* A few FrontLight tweaks & cleanups on Kobo:
* Moved the Kobo-specific startup status insanity to Kobo-specific init
* Made turnOff/turnOn frontlight do a smooth ramp down/up
* On Kobo, use turnOff/turnOn for suspend/resume, to get that smooth toggle
* On Kobo, for NaturalLight w/ a mixer, only set warmth for setWarmth, and only set Brightness for setBrightness, otherwise, it tried to set both with not in-sync values, which made the FL widget jittery.
Adds configuration to the top corners as well as the additional gestures hold and two-finger tap.
Deprecates `DTAP_ZONE_FLIPPING` and `DTAP_ZONE_BOOKMARK`.
Fixes#4877.
- Removed "Swipe to follow first link on page" menu item and
handling code, as it feels not really as practical as
"Swipe to follow nearest link".
- Removed recently added "External link action", as we can
just always present a popup with the url and the available
actions.
- Generic handling of these actions in onGoToExternalLink(),
so they are proposed on the Wikipedia lookup popup too.
- Allow external link on PDF documents (previously, only
internal links were handled).
- Have "Ignore external links on tap" available on all
document types.
- Added "Ignore external links on swipe" (default to true,
the current behaviour).
- Added multiswipe gesture "Follow nearest internal link"
(the existing "Follow nearest link" now follows the
nearest external or internal link)
- ButtonDialogTitle: added an option to look a bit more
alike ConfirmBoxes.
- Footnote popups: fix link unhighlight when tap on external link.
It was missing some ordering hints to have it always
precede taps to change page.
(Somehow noticed only when we reached > 32 gestures
registered, which may have introduced some shuffling,
while previously the addition order was somehow
preserved...)
* Add a toggle to disable the C blitter in the Dev menu (depends on https://github.com/koreader/koreader-base/pull/882) (never shown if the JIT is disabled, grayed out if the C blitter is not installed)
* Fix a few sizeUtf8Text call sites that were doing a nil check in order to account for the new return type.
* Tweak statusbar handling to avoid spurious sizeUtf8Text warnings when it's hidden, and unify its behavior between being hidden via toggle, and hidden on book open (at least when all-at-once is not enabled).
* c.f., https://github.com/koreader/koreader-base/pull/882 (Android, PB, RGB32 & Legacy Kindle regression fixes).
When toggling between scroll and page modes multiple
times, _gotoXPointer() could find the xpointer to be
already positionned and avoid calling setDirty() (so
not enqueuing a whole screen refresh). But the page
will be slightly moved to account for the top margin
disappearing. We need that whole screen refresh in
such cases, so ensure one is enqueued.
I overlooked this until I noticed it on Transifex today.
See https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/4791#discussion_r265546245
Also changing the internal name because for something that's only been in one or two nightlies there's no point in prematurely introducing legacy settings.
Code removed from ReaderGesture and put into BookInfo where
it belongs, so we can just use Events.
Also convert description to plain text to not show HTML tags.
This internal ButtonProgressWidget widget was behaving
differently from all others (OptionTextItem, OptionIconItem
and ToggleSwitch) by duplicating some code from
ConfigDialog:onConfigChoose() instead of calling it directly.
While making it similar to others, I noticed that onConfigChoose()
did a full repaint, which was necessary for some settings to
be applied (ie: Contrast).
On CreDocument, this full repaint may cause some double drawing
on config changes (ie: Margins, drawing once after margin changes,
and then re-positionning to previous xpointer).
So, make the need for full repaint a condition on KoptOptions.
* Fix the "Enable debug logging" checkbox so that it properly disables "Enable verbose debug logging" when it gets disabled
* Avoid asking ImageWidget for alpha-blending when it's not useful
* Make ImageWidget's alpha-blending code-path double-check that alpha-blending actually is needed, and avoid it if possible
* In the same vein, only do alpha-blending in textboxwidget when absolutely necessary
* Prefer color constants over the gray() method, ensuring that they're part of the eInk palette
Depends on https://github.com/koreader/koreader-base/pull/853Fix#4774
Similar to what's been added for 1 page view, but just turn
one page instead of switching to scroll mode when reaching
top left or bottom right corners.
Also make the selection start xpointer more accurate by
getting them in onHold(), instead of possibly too late in
onHoldPan() where we have already moved.
Adds a toggle switch in the Orientation bottom config menu to
allow showing 1 page or 2 pages when in landscape mode.
Previously, this was hardcoded to be in 2-pages modes only
in some circumstances (device resolution + user dpi).
No need to use current page and xpointers. We can use
'pos', in both scroll and page modes, as it is always
accurate to show the y of the current view.
When following a footnote popup, the highlighted link
delayed clearing (when the link is hidden by the popup)
would clear the margin marker on the target page too early.
The widget system doesn't really do multi-inheritance as well as it should at the moment. Instead of diving into the internals with release upcoming, this commit rewrites the shortcuts to behave better.
Also fixes an older bug in that changing the friendly name didn't actually do anything on first adding a shortcut.
Fixes#4763.
Also check for boxes in the 2nd page when in 2 page modes
(and fix onTapXPointerSavedHighlight(), too quickly cut
and pasted from drawXPointerSavedHighlight() recently).
Bump crengine and cre.cpp to correctly returns rect for
the first line of the 2nd page.
Marking a document as "finished" is important for Wallabag (see, among others, #4737, #4271). Also it's an obvious missing action.
Default to left, up. That keeps with the fullscreen dialog gestures generally go up. Also it was still unassigned.
* Remove separator on last item, see https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/4737#pullrequestreview-210948520
As suggested by @poire-z.
https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/4727#issuecomment-469668338
I wanted to make the gesture a `W`, but that's a bit too unwieldy. Instead there's the suggestion of a (backward) `W`.
The default gestures for wifi on and off are diagonal multiswipe half circles, like an turnable on/off knob.
* [UX] Gesture manager: add action - Exit and Restart
Also:
- add and show some separators in the gestures list
- fix gesture removal, and also remove it from settings
- add missing east west east
- add 6 remaining of the 8 knob 3/4 rotations
- add 3 easy knob full rotation (down + east + west)
* Show and allow removing gestures only in settings
* small optimisation (no loop needed on each multiswipe check)
* keep menu open and updated when recording multiswipe
* The Great 8bpp Experiment
Swap to 8bpp on Kobo, because we're 'effing grayscale, for pete's sake!
* Always swap to 8bpp, no matter the launch method.
Because it turned out that, even when restarting Nickel, we had to
restore the expected bitdepth ourselves, because pickel/Nickel didn't do
the job completely.
(I'm going to guess the grayscale flag wasn't getting flipped properly).
* Dither every non-transparent icon to the eInk palette
* Make sure hasBGRFrameBuffer is only enabled when the Kobo fb actually is
@ 32bpp...
* Re-process badly grayscaled icons
* And re-grayscale that one w/ gamma correction so the squares show up
better.
* Allow the fbdepth switch to be disabled (in Developer settings).
Also, allow setting debug mode that way.
Also, forcibly disable verbose logging when disabling debug.
* Update setting name to piggyback on the existing check in reader.lua
* Update icons postprocessing info
Require is kept in memory, including the modifications made to it by MenuSorter. This can cause trouble when switching between the FileManager and Reader.
Fixes#4703.
When multiswipes are enabled, this fixes the long-standing complaint that swiping to open the menu could unintentionally trigger some light panning. With the introduction of multiswipes, this problem has become more noticeable.
Before multiswipes and the gesture manager this was impractical on touch-only devices, but no more!
Also includes some minor textual clarifications on some of the settings.
By scrolling last page a little bit further.
Also fix a few other scroll mode issues, all related
to doc_height not being updated (eg, in the middle of
a book, and doubling the font size, one would not
be able to turn pages and read the 2nd half of the
book...)
The idea of looking for highlights 1 page before and after
was not working when you have multiple small pages, and
some scroll mode view was actually showing 3 or 4 pages.
So, rework that by using absolute positions when looking
for highlights present in the scrolled view.
This basic initial implementation offers an introductory message
on the first multiswipe with the option to disable, as well as
a few example multiswipes.
Custom multiswipes can be added to `settings/multiswipes.lua`.
* Various FocusManager related tweaks to limit its usage to devices with a DPad, and prevent initial button highlights in Dialogs on devices where it makes no sense (i.e., those without a DPad. And even on DPad devices, I'm not even sure how we'd go about making one of those pop up anyway, because no Touch ;)!).
* One mysterious fix to text-only Buttons so that the flash_ui highlight always works, and always honors `FrameContainer`'s pill shape. (Before that, an unhighlight on a text button with a callback that didn't repaint anything [say, the find first/find last buttons in the Reader's search bar when you're already on the first/last match] would do a square black highlight, and a white pill-shaped unhighlight (leaving the black corners visible)).
The workaround makes *absolutely* no sense to me (as `self[1] -> self.frame`, AFAICT), but it works, and ensures all highlights/unhighlights are pill-shaped, so at least we're not doing maths for rounded corners for nothing ;).
* Enable HW dithering on supported devices (Clara HD, Forma; Oasis 2, PW4)
* FileManager and co. (where appropriate, i.e., when covers are shown)
* Book Status
* Reader, where appropriate:
* CRe: on pages whith image content (for over 7.5% of the screen area, should hopefully leave stuff like bullet points or small scene breaks alone).
* Other engines: on user-request (in the gear tab of the bottom menu), via the new "Dithering" knob (will only appear on supported devices).
* ScreenSaver
* ImageViewer
* Minimize repaints when flash_ui is enabled (by, almost everywhere, only repainting the flashing element, and not the toplevel window which hosts it).
(The first pass of this involved fixing a few Button instances whose show_parent was wrong, in particular, chevrons in the FM & TopMenu).
* Hunted down a few redundant repaints (unneeded setDirty("all") calls),
either by switching the widget to nil when only a refresh was needed, and not a repaint,
or by passing the appropritate widget to setDirty.
(Note to self: Enable *verbose* debugging to catch broken setDirty calls via its post guard).
There were also a few instances of 'em right behind a widget close.
* Don't repaint the underlying widget when initially showing TopMenu & ConfigDialog.
We unfortunately do need to do it when switching tabs, because of their variable heights.
* On Kobo, disabled the extra and completely useless full refresh before suspend/reboot/poweroff, as well as on resume. No more double refreshes!
* Fix another debug guard in Kobo sysfs_light
* Switch ImageWidget & ImageViewer mostly to "ui" updates, which will be better suited to image content pretty much everywhere, REAGL or not.
PS: (Almost 💯 commits! :D)
Panning to the bottom right corner (or top left corner) switches
to scroll mode and scroll the page forward (resp. backward) 1/3rd
of the screen.
One has to pan out of the corner to continue selection.
Panning again to that corner scrolls another 1/3rd of screen.
Page mode is restored when highlighting or dismissing the highlight
dialog, and a little marker is shown at where selection was started
so one does not get lost after all that scrolling and restoring.
Make this existing setting tunable with a menu item.
Also make the Page overlap and Highlight menus use a
checkbox, and their items grayed out when disabled.
Revert 9971eb85 and make multi-lines strings more readable.
(Multiline translatable strings extraction has been fixed
in koreader-misc tralua_xgettext.py.)
- Remove duplicated "Show footnote popup". Have the same setting
applied for Tap or 'Swipe to follow nearest link'.
- Make some menu items enabled or disabled depending on if they would
have some effect with the current state of other menu items, as
some kind of visual self-documentation of these dependancies.
- Add menu item to set the footnote popup font size, relative to
the book font size.
- SpinWidget: allow for showing some informative text
When no height= provided, and the InfoMessage would overflow
screen height when some long message is provided, decrease the
font size until the widget fit.
* Fix the Touch input probe on Trilogy devices that depend on the touch_probe_ev_epoch_time quirk (fix#630)
* Expose a "Pageturn button inversion" feature in the Navigation menu (for all devices with keys) (fix#4446)
* Allow ignoring the accelerometer on the Forma (Screen > Ignore accelerometer rotation events; also available from the Gesture Manager) (fix#4451)
* Fix SleepCover handling on the Forma (fix#4457)
* Make isWifiOn a tiny bit more accurate (check the actual WiFi module instead of sdio_wifi_pwr)
* Move all flash related Screen options to the eInk submenu
Adds 2 tweaks to allow displaying footnotes at the bottom of pages,
like it's done in some printed books. This will work only with
books with correctly specified footnotes with the adequate EPUB
attributes, and with Wikipedia EPUBs. But users may be able to
activate them for other books with some user style tweaks.
Adds a few tweaks to control the build of the alternative TOC.
With some user style tweaks, one may be able to build a usable
TOC for some badly formatted or converted books.
Also fixes 2 paragraphs tweaks.
Fix some conflict on Android where a swipe north from the
bottom to show system buttons (to exit or swith apps) would
cause a page change.
These gestures have never been available in ReaderPaging, so
it shouldn't be a big loss.
* Enforce a known rotation on startup, to make sure we handle touch input coordinates properly.
* Proper FrontLight warmth support (thanks to @cairnsh & @pazos in #4291)!
* Fix the PageTurn buttons mapping to match Nickel's defaults
* Properly remap PageTurn buttons depending on the current rotation.
* Actually enable the Mk.7 screen refresh codepath on *all* Mk.7 devices (I'd messed up the device check...).
* Full accelerometer handling (includes a touch of refactoring regarding orientation handling in general).
* Fix insidiously broken USBMS behavior in Nickel after we exit on FW >4.8.
Fix#4291Fix#3002
Update translator.lua to use a still working google translate API.
Add a method to show translations (main and alternates) in
a TextViewer.
Re-enable "Translate" button in text selection/highlight buttons
dialog.
Target language can be set with a manually added setting:
translator_target_language = "fr"
and will fallback to the UI language.
bump crengine, which includes:
- Adds support for symbol fonts (local or embedded)
- Fix some issues when rendering text in constrained width
- Page splitting: fix possible missing blocks
- CSS: adds support for 'auto', ignore % for borders
- Fix right border drawing position
- Fix: adds missing properties in copystyle()
- Adds comments, erm_killed rendering method
- Adds getRenderedWidths(): get node min/max node content width
- Tables rendering: fixes and improvements
- getRenderedWidths: enable min_width to be a single CJK char
- Fix wrong text wrap avoid in some case
- epub.css: add style for 'blockquote'
- Fix rendering issue when line ends with an image
Adds a few style tweaks related to tables.
Enforce table width: 100% in Wikipedia EPUBs to keep
previous look, which feels better with the various kinds
of tables in Wikipedia pages.
Fix unit tests as juliet.epub (full of blockquotes), grew quite
a few pages with the epub.css update.
When a main document is opened for displaying, some other
document openings (for getting metadata or cover image)
could affect the main document.
Split some code from CreDocument:init() into another new
method CreDocument:setupDefaultView(), that will only be
called by ReaderUI when opening the main document (and not
by these other openings like Book inforation, View cover...)
Also speed up some of these other openings (Search, Screensaver)
by using doc:loadDocument(false) to load only metadata and
avoid parsing the HTML.
Details in https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/4346#issuecomment-440036496
- ReaderConfig does not need to call again self:initGesListener() on
screen rotation/resize, as it uses the TouchZone infrastructure
that deals itself with rotation. So, it was adding new gestures
that were overriding tap on footer and preventing it from working.
- ReaderFooter: fix refresh area (which was too small when toggling
from hidden to visible)
- ReaderToc: fix crash when showing TOC in scroll mode after rotation
- Menu: fix crash when no onReturn defined (could happen when tap on
bottom left corner when showing an empty TOC)
Avoid forceRePaint() (and showing the full page without any
widget) between closing the "Looking up..." info message and
displaying the Dictionary result window, as it's not really
needed (I must have added it for symmetry with
ReaderDictionary:showLookupInfo() where it is needed.)
This avoids some occasional refresh competition glitches.
Also trim spaces at start or end of selection (can't hurt),
and replaced ugly string.gsub(text) with text:gsub().
Follow up to fa0117bb (#4268), to make things a bit clearer:
Only ReaderRolling get the 'SetStatusLine' event, and tells
crengine about the change, and then send the 'UpdatePos' event.
ReaderFooter now just gets a :setVisible() method.
Now, all the code that calls a self.ui.document:set* method, that
most probably triggers a full re-rendering by crengine, do signal
'UpdatePos' immediately after. This event signals that all page
number, pages count, positions... are no more valid and must be
queried or computed again.
This could also be used if we ever want to cache Page Links or
Screen Boxes: this event will have us dropped these caches.
Addition of WebDav to the CloudStorage. The functionality is the same as with Dropbox and FTP, it is possible to browse the files on the server and download a copy.
Tested with:
NextCloud
HubZilla
Default setting set by holding on the bottom config buttons
for "View mode" (scroll/page) and "Progress bar" (full/mini)
were not used.
Also, when switching Progress bar from 'full' to 'mini',
show the mini bar again.
When a link is covered by the footnote widget, we highlight it
again when closing the footnote, and schedule an unhighlight
0.5s later.
When we tap on another footnote link, this was happening too
but the unhighlight unhighlighted all, including the new
footnote link.
This disable the former when the latter happens.
Take full/top status bar's height into account when
computing coordinates.
Also wrap getPageMargins() in CreDocument, so we
don't use cre.cpp _document directly anywhere else.
Adds new options to the Links> submenu, for now only
available and used with CRE documents.
- Allow larger tap area around links
- Ignore external links
- Show footnotes in popup
- Show more links as footnotes
(This last item is mostly for testing and loosening the
footnote detection algorithm, and see how it would behave
with glossary-like links and inter glossary terms links.)
Fix distance computation from gesture position to link by
using segments.
Code for detecting if a link is a footnote is in cre.cpp, and
tweakable a bit with flags in ReaderLink:showAsFoonotePopup().
Footnotes HTML content is displayed by a new FootnoteWidget,
which uses MuPDF for its rendering.
From it, swipe south or tap outside to close, swipe to the left
to follow the original link and jump to the footnote location
in the book.
Also fix tap on highlights after the recent change to use segments
for displaying: use segments also when checking taps.
Manager supports separate gestures for the file manager and the reader. Gestures from the manager have a higher priority than built-in gestures.
Settings available in Gear -> Device -> Gesture manager
TouchMenu: added options to menu items with the following defaults:
keep_menu_open = false
hold_keep_menu_open = true
So, default for Tap callback is to close menu, and for Hold callback
to keep menu open.
In both cases, provide the TouchMenu instance as the 1st argument to
the callback functions (instead of a refresh_menu_func I added in #3941)
so the callback can do more things, like closing, refreshing,
changing menu items text and re-ordering...
ReaderZooming: show symbol for default (like it was done for
ReaderFont, ReaderHyphenation...)
TextEditor plugin: update the previously opened files list in real
time, so the menu can be kept open and used as the TextEditor main
interface.
SSH plugin: keep menu open and update the Start/Stop state in real time
ReadTimer plugin: tried to do what feels right (but I don't use it)
Also remove forgotten cp in the move/paste file code
Don't consider sidecar file when sorting by access time.
Rename 'sort by title' to 'sort by filename':
This is in accordance with the actual function of the code, which
uses filename rather than title as specified in file metadata.
Setting the hyph algo before loading the document may save crengine
from re-doing some expensive work at render time (the hyph algo
is accounted in the nodeStyleHash, and would cause a mismatch if it is
different at render time from how it was at load time - "English US" by
default - causing a full re-init of the nodes styles.)
We will only re-set it on pre-render (only then, after loading, we
know the document language) if it's really needed: when no algo saved
in book settings, no default algo, and book has some language defined.
Explicit new options: select_directory, select_file, show_files.
With select_directory, show an entry to select current directory
(so, removed undocumented hack "hold on .. to select current
directory").
Some problem somewhere with [[...]] strings starting with a
leading newline. Should probably be allowed, but for now
fix the few such cases to allow them being translated.
* Only switch to ondemand when we actually can, and when it's better than the current governor...
This potentially leaves Mk.5 in the lurch, but there's no perfect solution there :/.
* Switch to UI for the unmark event of navigation hints markers
Might help on non-REAGL devices, and doesn't hurt there (re #3983).
* Switch SQLite DBs to WAL
Sounds nice in theory, behaves fine in practice.
It was enabled by default, but it's mostly only needed for CJK users.
Furthermore, when floating punctuation is enabled, some rendering
issues exist (text right alignment, variable margins...) that
only CJK developpers could really fix. So, best to disable it and
avoid these rendering issues for most users.
Also: fix CoverBrowser crash when "Delete cache database"
followed by "Prune cache of removed books".
* Make findcalibre actually useful
By setting SEARCH_LIBRARY_PATH when a Calibre tree is found, so that
book paths can properly be constructed.
Users should still very much set it themselves, but at least everything
works as intended when not, instead of mysteriously half-breaking later.
Drop the SetDefaults bits, it appeared to have been added to fix no-ops
detected by Luacheck, and it's actually non-functional, because
SetDefaults doesn't handle saving variables it did not itself assign.
So this was just causing the "Do you want to save new defaults" popup to
show up on exit, but it couldn't actually do anything useful (like, say,
save the new SEARCH_LIBRARY_PATH value).
fix#4082
* Better comments about the state of NaturalLight on the Clara, and how this might translate to the H2O²r2.
re #4015
* Make ScrolltextWidget refresh as "partial" only on actual Scroll events
Moving the cursor should stay "ui", or things gets annoying really fast
;).
re #4084
* Bump base to pickup ZMQ fixes (fix#4086)
InputText, ScrollTextWidget, TextBoxWidget:
- proper line scrolling when moving cursor or inserting/deleting text
to behave like most text editors do
- fix cursor navigation, optimize refreshes when moving only the cursor,
don't recreate the textwidget when moving cursor up/down
- optimize refresh areas, stick to "ui" to avoid a "partial" black
flash every 6 appended or deleted chars
InputText:
- fix issue when toggling Show password multiple times
- new option: InputText.cursor_at_end (default: true)
- if no InputText.height provided, measure the text widget height
that we would start with, and use a ScrollTextWidget with that
fixed height, so widget does not overflow container if we extend
the text and increase the number of lines
- as we are using "ui" refreshes while text editing, allows refreshing
the InputText with a diagonal swipe on it (actually, refresh the
whole screen, which allows refreshing the keyboard too if needed)
ScrollTextWidget:
- properly align scrollbar with its TextBoxWidget
TextBoxWidget:
- some cleanup (added new properties to avoid many method calls), added
proxy methods for upper widgets to get them
- reordered/renamed/refactored the *CharPos* methods for easier reading
(sorry for the diff that won't help reviewing, but that was needed)
InputDialog:
- new options:
allow_newline = false, -- allow entering new lines
cursor_at_end = true, -- starts with cursor at end of text, ready to append
fullscreen = false, -- adjust to full screen minus keyboard
condensed = false, -- true will prevent adding air and balance between elements
add_scroll_buttons = false, -- add scroll Up/Down buttons to first row of buttons
add_nav_bar = false, -- append a row of page navigation buttons
- find the most adequate text height, when none provided or fullscreen, to
not overflow screen (and not be stuck with Cancel/Save buttons hidden)
- had to disable the use of a MovableContainer (many issues like becoming
transparent when a PathChooser comes in front, Hold to paste from
clipboard, moving the InputDialog under the keyboard and getting stuck...)
GestureRange: fix possible crash (when event processed after widget
destruction ?)
LoginDialog: fix some ui stack increase and possible crash when switching
focus many times.
The Dogear icon is 20x20 pixels and was never scaled where used. Now:
- The bookmark icon (top right of screen) is scaled to 1/32th of the screen
width (previously, it was 1/30th on a 600px wide emulator, 1/53th on a GloHD).
On CreDocument, furthermore decrease its size if needed depending on the
selected margins so it never overwrite the text.
- CoverBrowser list view: scale it to the available room under
the "N % of P page" text, so it does not cover "page".
- CoverBrowser mosaic view: scale it to 1/16th of the cover rectangle, which
should prevent if from overwritting the text thanks to a max text width of
7/8 of the cover rectangle.
Also for CoverBrowser: don't index metadata for unsupported document
(which could happen when browsing files with PathChooser) and show
full filename for such documents.
Also: ImageWidget: small fix in case we use both scale_factor and
scale_for_dpi.
* Reader menu: adds "Open previous document"
Allows for quick switching between 2 documents, and keep
symmetry with FileManager menu "Open last document".
* Use "Last:" and "Previous:" when Show filename
Adds a new Hyphenation method: Soft-hyphens only.
Adds a new toggable option, usable with Algorithm and language
based methods: Trust soft hyphens (if enabled, if soft hyphens
found in word: use them and skip regular method).
Includes:
- Avoid page break between a node and its borders
- Allow building an alternative TOC from document headings
On CRE documents, allows toggling between original TOC and an
alternative TOC with long-press on the "Table of content" menu
item.
Also update the Wikipedia stylesheet to further avoid
page-breaks between images and their caption, so a full
bordered wikipedia thumbnail is always full on a single page.
Use epub.css as the main default style, with all file formats
except FB2 (which needs fb2.css).
(epub.css has been cleaned recently to be more conforming to HTML
specs and to not include class name based styles - with conditional
compatiblity styles for previously opened documents. It should be
usable on all HTML based documents, except FB2 which has some
incompatible specs.)
Consider all shipped css files other than "epub.css" and "fb2.css"
obsolete, and put them in a sub-menu (these other css files have
not been updated in the same way, and are kept as-is for when a
previously opened document requests one of them).
Add an icon indicating which style is set as default (like it's
been done for the Font and Style tweaks menus).
Also set the font size of the full status bar (available with
cre documents) when the setting "cre_header_status_font_size"
is present in settings.reader.lua (to add manually).
* Switch all initial highlights to "fast" update
i.e., everything that does an invert
Plus a few other things that refresh small UI elements onTap
Re #3130
* Tweak refreshtype for a number of widgets:
* Fix iconbutton dimen
* Make touchmenu flash on close & initial menu popup. Full-screen on close.
* Use flashing updates when opening/closing dictionary popup. Full-screen on close.
* Switch FileManager to partial.
It's mostly text, and we want flash promotion there.
* Make configdialog & menu flash on exit
* Make FLWidget flash on close
* virtualkeyboard: flash on layout change & popup.
* Potentially not that great workaround to ensure we actually see the
highlights in the FM's chevrons
* Flash when closing BookStatus Widget
* Optimize away a quirk of the dual "fast" update in touchmenu
* Promote updates to flashing slightly more agressively.
* Document what each refreshtype actually does.
With a few guidelines on their optimal usecases.
* Switch remaining scheduleIn(0.0) to nextTick()
* Tighter scheduling timers
Shaving a hundred ms off UI callbacks...
* Cache FFI C Library namespace
* Ask MuPDF to convert pixmaps to BGR on Kobo
Fix#3949
* Mention koxtoolchain in the README
re #3972
* Kindle: Handle *all* fonts via EXT_FONT_DIR instead of bind mounts insanity
* Make black flashes in UI elements user-configurable
(All or nothing).
* Jot down some random KOA2 sysfs path
Books previously opened (that have a metadata.lua, whether with
highlights or not, but because they all have a last_xpointer that
points to the current page, that can be broken too by the changes)
will continue to have the old wrong behaviour, so they won't be
impacted by the breaking changes.
Update cre_dom_version code to use the new functions from cre.cpp.
Remove these Workarounds from Style tweaks.
Alternate rendering of list items as block elements (instead of
inline/final).
Check the built DOM is still coherent with styles on stylesheet
change, and propose to reload the document if not. Also
invalidate cache on close in that case so a new DOM is built
at next opening.
ReaderStyleTweak: fix tweak css duplication; when globally
enabled, when disabling and re-enabling locally, the css would
be added twice to the final CSS.
Also adds !important to "sub_sup_smaller" tweak, and increase
its priority so it can override "font_size_all_inherit".
Adds CreDocument:getCacheFilePath() for futur features.
Changed from 1 second to 2.
I also fixed the problem with blocking the UI when displaying the message. Now notification box is closed after taping anywhere (like InfoMessage).
Footer item "pages left in chapter" was wrong when changing font
sizes or some other layout option (the footer was drown before
this happen, and not after, until we later change page).
Seems to also fix possible wrong ticks position in that case
(may be only when cache is used/re-used, for some not really
obvious reason)
Also allows for updating the fallback font and see results
in real-time on the underlying document.
Bump crengine for: fix updating fallback font
Also adds a menu item to generate a html document showing some
sample text rendered with each available font (only if the user has
a file koreader/settings/fonts-test-sample.html with some HTML
snippet of his choice).
Includes:
- [build] FreeType: bump to 2.9.1
- [build] bump libjpeg-turbo to 1.5.3
- bump crengine:
- Fix CSS selector specificity computation
- [fix] crengine/src/lvfntman.cpp: improve letter_spacing limit
- [fix] crengine/src/lvxml.cpp: add all empty HTML elements
- html head styles: fix styles not being applied
- Hyphenation: increase MAX_PATTERN_SIZE from 16 to 35
- html documents: proper handling of <BR> tags
- Allows requesting old (broken) XML/DOM building code
- cre.cpp: setStyleSheet(): accept filepath and/or css text,
and added getIntProperty() and getStringProperty()
credocument/readerrolling: request older XML/DOM building code
for books previously opened, to not lose bookmarks and highlights
(unit tests update because of new handling of consecutive BR via css
pushed links down in the book)
New module RenderImage (alongside existing RenderText) to provides
image rendering and scaling facilities.
Uses MuPDF, but tries first giflib on GIF.
Allows for getting all the frames from an animated GIF.
When hyphenating a word, the existing algorithms enforced a minimal
length of 2 for each word fragments on left or right side.
This adds a widget to allow changing these minimal sizes (from 1 to 10).
Use a setting 'copt_overlap_lines' (default to 1) for the
number of text lines from previous page to show on next
page (instead of a hardcoded and unscaled 20).
Take footer height into account for overlap calculation
and dim area.
Show overlap only when changing pages (not when panning).
Also fix ReaderFooter:getHeight() which was returning
a higher height than the real one since footer refactoring.
This implements a reasonable facsimile of going back on Android.
The back button first goes back in a history of visited pages.
When there's no history left, it closes the app.
Fixes#3816.
* [VirtualKeyboard] Add support for keynaviguation
Also rename the variable "layout" to "keyboard_layout" because conflict
with the layout from the focusmanager
* Make the goto dialog compatible with key naviguation
My solution is to change the order of the widget. The last one will the
virtualkeybard so it catch all the keybinding, and below it, make the
dialog "is_always_active = true" so it can receive touch event.
* Correctly show the virtual keyboard on dpad devices
* change the order to call the virtualKeyboard so it end up on top
* Handle the multi input dialog
* Support reopening the virtualKeyboard by the Press key
* add check focusmanager
* Fix https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/3797
* MultiInputDialog : Now work on non touch-device
* Set the virtualkeyboard to be a modal widget
* Fix the layout in multiinputwidget
* Fix for the various combination of
hasKeys,hasDpad,isTouchDevice
* [Focusmanager] Better handling of malformed layout
* [toggleswitch] Add support for key navigation to this widget
Add the onFocus an onUnfocus event handler
add a new function that just circle the switch if not touch event is
detected
* Add key navigation to the readermenu
The shortcut is still Alt-gr on sdl, to be defined on Kindle
* Remove the old method of handling the Press key.
Now the event is handled by the main widget who implement focusmanager
and then dispatched to the currently focused item.
Modify the fine font tuning only for non touch-devices
See : https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/3785#issuecomment-375306466
Navigating the TOC, viewing a full screen image, browsing
reading stats... would call paintTo() on ReaderUI (so, asking
the engine to render the page) or FileManager (so, rendering cover
images) even though their content is hidden.
Widgets registering to UIManager have to explicitely states
they cover the full screen (UIManager can't know, parts of their
dimen may be transparent, e.g. if it is a CenterContainer).
Also uses PathChooser (instead of InputDialog) in 'Set Wikipedia
Save as EPUB directory'. When setting not yet set, propose to
create and use ~/Wikipedia/ .
Reading an epub file with Mupdf would show 6 items in bottom
config panel. Reading it with crengine would show only 5.
A crash would happen if we were on the 6th when leaving MuPDF,
and later opening config panel with crengine.
* [device][kindle4] add fake event to kindle4
* modify focusmanager to allow for more complex layout
The focusmanager now naviguate the layout by avoiding nil value
instead of relying on table lenght. It should be completely backward
compatible
* add Dpad naviguation to the touchmenu
* fix crash because virtualkeyboard on non touch device
the kindle4NT has no keyboard nor touch, the fix open the virtual
keyboard so koreader dont crash but it's not useable
* Enable device with keys to use the touchmenu
* Don't get stuck in reader progress statistics plugin
* [underlinecontainer] Fix and remove unused function
References #1898.
Holding on a word for more than 3s should bring the highlight menu.
It crashed on readerpaging documents because self.hold_pos is no more
a Geom object with them.
Also inverted selected_word/selected_text logic, as with PDF, selected_word
stays set when selected_text is available.
New zoom configuration available among the others
Allows to easily navigate in two-column documents
In order to work properly, **scroll mode must be deactivated**
The best zoom is obtained with proper cropping around the two columns (should be the default one for content-width)
Fixes#501
ReaderLink: make all links be a table (they were a table for PDF,
but a string for CRE) for clearer code. Also have location_stack
store them as tables, with additional properties.
Get original position of link source (and verify it is valid)
so we can show a marker there.
Also:
Hold on "Go back to previous location" to clear location stack.
Resists "Swipe to go back" when previous locations stack has just
become empty, and show a notification.
Fix wrong links with Swipe to follow nearest link on PDF documents.
Fix various inconsitencies: some occurences not highlighted
on displayed page; different occurences highlighted on same
page wheter we went there searching backward or forward; pages
with occurences simply just skipped when searching in one
direction, and not in the other...
To avoid edge cases, crengine will now give back results on up
to 3 pages, that we need to filter.
Bump base and crengine
When no manually added specific 'poweroff' or 'reboot' screensaver
settings, use the suspend/sleep settings set via menu with an added
overlay message in top right corner.
Generalized some settings: "White background behind message and images"
and "Stretch covers and images to fit screen", and move "Exclude this
book's cover from screensaver" up a level (and remove this menu item
added by ReaderMenu when closing document).
Don't use memory cache with rendered screensaver images.
ImageWidget: fix wrong behaviour (stretch) when 'file', 'width',
'height' and 'scale_factor' provided: now, keep aspect ratio.
ImageWidget: increase file image mem cache (mostly used for icons)
from 2 to 5MB to be ready for devices with very high DPI.
Configure number of items per page (from 6 to 24) - default is 14
Allow filenames to wrap so that we can see the full name
Used by File browser, History, Search Result, Bookmarks, Table of contents (only single line), File chooser, OPDS catalog
* Adds a generic HTML widget modeled after the text widget, and HTML dictionary support. HTML dictionaries can have their own CSS (for X.ifo it must be X.css). The base CSS just resets the margin and sets the font.
Note that the widget doesn't handle links, that wasn't needed for the dictionary.
Closes <https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/1776>.
* Show tag stripped HTML if the dictionary entry isn't valid HTML
* Simulate the normal <br/> behavior
* Bump base
in relative page turning in skim, errors appear when page number is less than 10, and you press -10 in skim it gives warning and the page doesn't change, this happens in pdf.
"update" method solves this if it comes first.
cre:loadDocument() may fail in recognizing the document format, and
koreader would previously keep calling other methods on it, which would
make crengine segfaults. We now check loadDocument success at the
various places it is called, and try to deal the best way we can when it fails.
* Prevent open screensaver more than one in the same time
* Add option to enable/disable background in message screensaver
* fallback to random images if this book cover is excluded feature + fix Disabled (leave screen/page as it is)
* Autostretch disable by default, more fallback options, leave screen as it is
drawXPointerSavedHighlight() and onTapXPointerSavedHighlight were
looping thru all credocuments highlights, which was expensive.
Now, we first check with cheaper getPageFromXPointer() the highlights
are on the current page before doing more expensive stuff.
Closes#3503.
When looking for .ifo to populate Dictionary settings menu,
avoid walking sub-directories once we found a .ifo, as these
sub-directories may contain a lot of images and other subdirs.
This feature, introduced some days ago, was actually
doing 2 updateItems calls: the initial one, and a second
to switch to focused_file page (cheap with classic display mode,
less cheap with CoverBrowser modes).
This change allows doing that in a single call.
Also fix a few crash possibilities when unhighlighting.
Also fix bug with binary search that could not be able to remove bookmark
when there are multiple bookmarks/highlights on the same page.
When going from reader to filemanager, we are in the directory
containing the last_file. With this, we will also be on the page
showing this file.
When in filemanager and going up (".."), we will also be on the
page containing the directory we came from.
This makes Go to, Skim to and TOC page selection work in
scroll mode, and page given to other module more accurate
(previously, we were one action lagging).
This makes button heights similar in all uses of ButtonTable.
It depended on how the ButtonTable was used in each widget
(previously, first and last row may have different sizes than
the others).
buttontable.lua: more even buttons height whether zero_sep or not
framecontainer.lua: added padding_top/bottom/left/right (similar to
what was done for iconbutton)
The following widgets have been adapted for this, with some
additional fixes:
buttondialog.lua
buttondialogtitle.lua: wider title with adequate padding
confirmbox.lua + multiconfirmbox.lua: dismissable via tap outside
inputdialog.lua + multiinputdialog.lua: more even vertical padding between elements
imageviewer.lua
textviewer.lua
datewidget.lua
timewidget.lua
Additionaly: frontlightwidget.lua: fixed width of progress bar that
was exceeding window width since the Size scaling adjustements
Decide baseline vertical position according to font metrics, instead
of the hardcoded 0.7 (in textwidget, which made the text a little
bit up in its box), and 0.75 (in toggleswitch, which made the text a
little bit down in its box). This usually gives a value around 0.72
or 0.73 with our ui fonts, which looks about right.
ReaderFooter: add bottom padding, now that our text goes a few pixels lower
"partial" refresh causes a full (without black flash) refresh on
Kindle (which uses REAGL mode for partial refresh). This causes a
full redraw of widgets, which is a bit distracting with some of them:
- dictquicklookup: when showing next definition
- infomessage: when displaying a new one (Wikipedia Save as epub)
Also fix bottom menu, that even when closed, would still register
bottom area as dirty: this would cause top menu navigation to
cause a full partial refresh, only noticable on Kindle.
This gives the page position to these modules even in scroll mode.
Also, in readerrolling: don't query battery/charging status
when crengine does not need it (used only when it shows its top
progress bar).
394be8a (#2855) and 2b3b310 (#3183) introduced side effects (scroll mode
crashing and TOC being reset and rebuild). This reverts parts of them
not yet reverted.
Avoid unnecessary work in ReaderView:onSetViewMode() and
ReaderRolling:updatePos() that would result in TOC being reset
and rebuilt (which can take time on books with huge TOC) during
reader setup.
Made the onHold buttons table similar to the one of File browser.
Added "Purge .sdr" and "Delete" to these buttons.
Moved the purgeSettings and removeFileFromHistoryIfWanted
logic into filemanagerutil functions.
Stay on the same page when manipulating history (previously, we were
always put back on first page).
Really keep deleted files in history (unless setting says otherwise).
Show deleted files in grey or dimmed in classic History and all
CoverBrowser display modes.
* frontlight on kobo: a few fixes
Rewritten to not update NickelConf on every change, and never
if KOBO_SYNC_BRIGHTNESS_WITH_NICKEL = false.
Reintroduce global settings frontlight_intensity and
is_frontlight_on to keep level and state across koreader
sessions.
Fix a few of the remaining issues on kobo light.
Ensure settings are saved when rebooting/powering off from
File browser.
* Ensure untoggle works when starting with light off
* fixes#2898 (prevents accidentally triggering reboot or poweroff)
Add ConfirmBox before reboot/power off
* increases clarity by preventing second page
* add "sleep" menu entry
* Add exit menu hold callback
Just under the existing "Embedded Styles". Support for this
was already there in crengine, and interfacing is similar to
what is done with Embedded Styles.
