NiLuJe b523c2e8b9 InputContainer: Fall cleanup ;).
Get rid of the doc & seqtext fields, as they are not actually used (nor
are they particularly useful, the event handler's name should be pretty
self-explanatory).

Also, tweak the key_events documentation to highlight the quirks of the
API, especially as far as array nesting is involved...

Random drive-by cleanup of the declarations of key_events & ges_events
to re-use the existing instance object (now that we know they're sane
;p) for tables with a single member (less GC pressure).

Clarify our OOP semantics across the codebase (#9586)
Basically:

* Use `extend` for class definitions
* Use `new` for object instantiations

That includes some minor code cleanups along the way:

* Updated `Widget`'s docs to make the semantics clearer.
* Removed `should_restrict_JIT` (it's been dead code since https://github.com/koreader/android-luajit-launcher/pull/283)
* Minor refactoring of LuaSettings/LuaData/LuaDefaults/DocSettings to behave (mostly, they are instantiated via `open` instead of `new`) like everything else and handle inheritance properly (i.e., DocSettings is now a proper LuaSettings subclass).
* Default to `WidgetContainer` instead of `InputContainer` for stuff that doesn't actually setup key/gesture events.
* Ditto for explicit `*Listener` only classes, make sure they're based on `EventListener` instead of something uselessly fancier.
* Unless absolutely necessary, do not store references in class objects, ever; only values. Instead, always store references in instances, to avoid both sneaky inheritance issues, and sneaky GC pinning of stale references.
  * ReaderUI: Fix one such issue with its `active_widgets` array, with critical implications, as it essentially pinned *all* of ReaderUI's modules, including their reference to the `Document` instance (i.e., that was a big-ass leak).
* Terminal: Make sure the shell is killed on plugin teardown.
* InputText: Fix Home/End/Del physical keys to behave sensibly.
* InputContainer/WidgetContainer: If necessary, compute self.dimen at paintTo time (previously, only InputContainers did, which might have had something to do with random widgets unconcerned about input using it as a baseclass instead of WidgetContainer...).
* OverlapGroup: Compute self.dimen at *init* time, because for some reason it needs to do that, but do it directly in OverlapGroup instead of going through a weird WidgetContainer method that it was the sole user of.
* ReaderCropping: Under no circumstances should a Document instance member (here, self.bbox) risk being `nil`ed!
* Kobo: Minor code cleanups.

AutoSuspend: Don't send LeaveStandby events from a zombie plugin instance (#9124)
Long story short: the LeaveStandby event is sent via `tickAfterNext`, so if we tear down the plugin right after calling it (in this case, that means that the very input event that wakes the device up from suspend is one that kills ReaderUI or FileManager), what's in UIManager's task queue isn't the actual function, but the anonymous nextTick wrapper constructed by `tickAfterNext` (c.f.,
https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/9112#issuecomment-1133999385).

Tweak `UIManager:tickAfterNext` to return a reference to said wrapper, so that we can store it and unschedule that one, too, in `AutoSuspend:onCloseWidget`.

Fix #9112 (many thanks to [@boredhominid](https://github.com/boredhominid) for his help in finding a repro for this ;)).
Re: #8638, as the extra debugging facilities (i.e., ebb81b9845) added during testing might help pinpoint the root issue for that one, too.

Also includes a minor simplification to `UIManager:_checkTasks`, and various other task queue related codepaths (e.g., `WakeupMgr`) ;).

[doc] add documentation to a few widgets (#8425) 2 years ago
hius07 e3cf8eea56
Many widgets: similar size in portrait and landscape (#8238)
- ButtonTable, ButtonDialog, ButtonDialogTitle
- ConfirmBox, MultiConfirmBox, SkimToWidget
- KeyboardLayoutDialog (and initially move the dialog
down to show the title in landscape mode)
- InputText's Clipboard dialog
Also: Notification: truncate long text

Tame some ButtonTable users into re-using Buttontable instances if possible (#7166)
* QuickDictLookup, ImageViewer, NumberPicker: Smarter `update` that will re-use most of the widget's layout instead of re-instantiating all the things.
* SpinWidget/DoubleSpinWidget: The NumberPicker change above renders a hack to preserve alpha on these widgets almost unnecessary. Also fixed said hack to also apply to the center, value button.

* Button: Don't re-instantiate the frame in setText/setIcon when unnecessary (e.g., no change at all, or no layout change).
* Button: Add a refresh method that repaints and refreshes a *specific* Button (provided it's been painted once) all on its lonesome.

* ConfigDialog: Free everything that's going to be re-instatiated on update

* A few more post #7118 fixes:
  * SkimTo: Always flag the chapter nav buttons as vsync
  * Button: Fix the highlight on rounded buttons when vsync is enabled (e.g., it's now entirely visible, instead of showing a weird inverted corner glitch).
  * Some more heuristic tweaks in Menu/TouchMenu/Button/IconButton
* ButtonTable: fix the annoying rounding issue I'd noticed in #7054 ;).

* Enable dithering in TextBoxWidget (e.g., in the Wikipedia full view). This involved moving the HW dithering align fixup to base, where it always ought to have been ;).

* Switch a few widgets that were using "partial" on close to "ui", or, more rarely, "flashui". The intent being to limit "partial" purely to the Reader, because it has a latency cost when mixed with other refreshes, which happens often enough in UI ;).

* Minor documentation tweaks around UIManager's `setDirty` to reflect that change.

* ReaderFooter: Force a footer repaint on resume if it is visible (otherwise, just update it).
* ReaderBookmark: In the same vein, don't repaint an invisible footer on bookmark count changes.

poire-z 6205f26047 Dict, Trapper: prevent dismissal by past events
Add UIManager:discardEvents(), to allow dropping events
for a period of time.
Default duration of 600ms on eInk, 300ms otherwise.
Used when showing the dict result window, so that a tap
happening just when it's being shown won't discard it.
Used with Trapper:confirm()/:info(), to avoid taps made
in a previous processing to dismiss (and so, select the
cancel action) a ConfirmBox not yet painted/visible.

poire-z 24424e505e Update UI layout code to use new SVG icons
- Add IconWidget, use it for icons instead of ImageWidget.
Specify icons by name only, look for them (with either
.svg or .png suffixes) in multiple directories (including
  koreader/settings/icons/ to allow customizing them).
Don't crash when icon name not found, shown a black
  background warning icon instead.
- Don't trust the icons' native sizes: replace
  scale_for_dpi=true with width/height=DGENERIC_ICON_SIZE,
so all icons get the same (tunable) size - except in
  a few specific use cases.
- Top and bottom menu bars: normalize, and have icons
properly centered in them, extend vertical line
  separators up to the edges.
- TOC: adjust expand/collapse icons size to items size

Fix partial HW dithered refreshes sometimes appearing to shift refreshed content (#6267)
* Fix HW dithered partial refreshes sometimes behaving as if the refreshed
content had moved a few pixels to the side...

Probably a kernel issue with the alignment fixup in the EPDC?

* Get rid of the legacy coordinates fixup

It shouldn't be necessary anymore.
And I'd rather fix the root cause, anyway.

* Bump base

* Missed a few DIVs in #6224

poire-z 9443098e98 Normalize some widgets appearance (those using ButtonTable)
This makes button heights similar in all uses of ButtonTable.
It depended on how the ButtonTable was used in each widget
(previously, first and last row may have different sizes than
the others).

buttontable.lua: more even buttons height whether zero_sep or not
framecontainer.lua: added padding_top/bottom/left/right (similar to
what was done for iconbutton)

The following widgets have been adapted for this, with some
additional fixes:

buttondialog.lua
buttondialogtitle.lua: wider title with adequate padding
confirmbox.lua + multiconfirmbox.lua: dismissable via tap outside
inputdialog.lua + multiinputdialog.lua: more even vertical padding between elements
imageviewer.lua
textviewer.lua
datewidget.lua
timewidget.lua

Additionaly: frontlightwidget.lua: fixed width of progress bar that
was exceeding window width since the Size scaling adjustements

poire-z 97d34c5bb0 Better handling of tap on invalid/external links
Tap on external urls or invalid links would jump to
document's 1st page. We check first the validity of the
link, and deal with wikipedia links or just show the external
url.
ConfirmBox: allow dismissing/cancelling by taping outside,
to keep UX consistent.

NiLuJe 50dbf6b581 Switch a few widgets to ui refresh modes
More closely matches native behavior on REAGL devices.
Closing those widgets should still trigger a partial refresh though,
because we usually get back to the reader, and text, so we want REAGL
;).

Hans-Werner Hilse 94ce08937a clean up refreshes
This is a larger clean-up of the refresh situation.
The general shift is that refreshes are now mainly triggered by
the (top-level) widgets when they get shown or closed via UIManager.

All refreshes for the widgets when they are in use were handled by
themselves before. This adds the case of showing/closing.

It is the desired result of not having UIManager:show()/:close()
do (full screen) refreshes on its own.

Hans-Werner Hilse 3066c86e38 Refactoring hardware abstraction
This is a major overhaul of the hardware abstraction layer.
A few notes:

General platform distinction happens in
  frontend/device.lua
which will delegate everything else to
  frontend/device/<platform_name>/device.lua
which should extend
  frontend/device/generic/device.lua

Screen handling is implemented in
  frontend/device/screen.lua
which includes the *functionality* to support device specifics.
Actually setting up the device specific functionality, however,
is done in the device specific setup code in the relevant
device.lua file.

The same goes for input handling.

chrox 84029e9694 add modal widget type that will stay on the top of window stack
ConfirmBox and InfoMessage are default to be modal.
Now returning to filamanager after highlighting a PDF page
the confirmbox asking users to save the document will not be hidden by
the filamanager window.
And it's tested on Kindle that #791 is already been solved probably by
out refacorting of MuPDF backend.

Hans-Werner Hilse 5982e24d57 unify color specification
colors were a mixture of 4bpp integers (0=white, 15=black) and
fractional blackness levels (0=white, 1.0=black) before. This is
now unified to use the color specification of the Blitbuffer API.
