9f5a2a1129 (svn r21340) -Change: prepare the MSVC project files (or rather its libraries) for collation (natural sorting) using ICU.
Note: this means, for MSVC users, that you will need openttd-useful 4.0 or higher to compiler this revision or higher, though sadly you'll need 3.4 or lower for the earlier revisions. Both 3.4 and 4.0 can be installed simultaniously though.

59519edd34 (svn r21044) -Feature: XZ/LZMA2 savegame support. New default reduces savegame size by 10 to 30% with slightly more CPU usage. With maximum settings it reduces savegame size by 20 to 30%, but that takes 7 to 14 times longer. Map saving + downloading takes, on average, 5% less. 2010-10-27 16:42:20 +00:00

53f48bbd4d (svn r9082) -Codechange: [win32] Update VS2003 and VS2005 project files to use the same outpath, and build in UNICODE mode. When making a release it is probably better to make two binaries, one without UNICODE, the other with, guaranteeing full Win9x compatibility (UNICODE with MSLU also works, without it's even better).
-Remove: [os/2] Relic project file remains from watcom

45b662c679 (svn r8832) -Change: rewrite the solution file generator a little so it makes project files that look more like the ones generated by respectively MSVC2003 and MSVC2005.
For some reason the internal formatting of the XML between MSVC2003 and MSVC2005 differs, so adding a file in MSVC2005 would result in basically adding the entire openttd_vs80.vcproj to the diff.

66bbf336c6 (svn r7759) -Merge: makefile rewrite. This merge features:
- A proper ./configure, so everything needs to be configured only once, not for every make.
 - Usage of makedepend when available. This greatly reduces the time needed for generating the dependencies.
 - A generator for all project files. There is a single file with sources, which is used to generate Makefiles and the project files for MSVC.
 - Proper support for OSX universal binaries.
 - Object files for non-MSVC compiles are also placed in separate directories, making is faster to switch between debug and release compiles and it does not touch the directory with the source files.
 - Functionality to make a bundle of all needed files for for example a nightly or distribution of a binary with all needed GRFs and language files.

Note: as this merge moves almost all files, it is recommended to make a backup of your working copy before updating your working copy.
